WEEK 6-7 - IT COMPONENTS

Hi guys!

Today I'll share with you guys about the IT components in the Hotel Booking System that we choose.
About the Hardware, Software and Network Topology.

Hardware
Computer hardware consists of technology for computer processing, data storage, input and output. the hardware use in Agoda, Hotel Booking System are:

Supercomputers

Servers

Desktop

Laptop Computers

Mobile devices

Software

Computer software includes both system software and application software. System software manages the resources and activities of the computer. Application software applies the computer to a specific task for an end user, such as processing order. They are:

Operating System: Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server, UNIX< Linux and OS X.

Web Browser: Internet Explorer 8.0, Google Chrome, and Opera.

User Interface: HTML and CSS.

Server: Apache

Database; MySQL

Mesh Topology in Agoda

Network Topology

Network topology is the arrangement of the various elements of a computer network. essentially, it is the topological structure of a network and may be depicted physically or logically. Based on our research, we believe that Agoda is implementing Fully-Connected Mesh Topology.

A mesh topology is a network topology in which each node relays data for the network. All mesh nodes cooperate in the distribution of data in the network. All directions in the picture are link to each other.

The supercomputer will link with YCS and all Agoda's agents such as tripadvisor.com, bookingforholidays.com and others. The supercomputer provides database to all of the connected links. The database includes hotels, accommodations in the hotel, room available, scenery, landmarks near the hotel and others.

YCS and other agents are linked to each other to make sure that they are always up to date with the number of availability of rooms for each hotel.
