WEEK 11 - AGODA'S VALUE CHAIN

Hello again everybody!
This time around we will be exploring the value chain of Agoda.com.
Below is the diagram to provide an overview of the value chain.



Primary Activities

Inbound Logistics
The inbound Logistics part is about selecting the best offers from the list of hotels in our server as well as the maintenance of our webpage. Since we do not have a physical “store” for our service, our webpage, Agoda.com, serves as the main platform for us to reach more customers. Therefore, we set to provide high standards of service through our webpage.

Operations
Agoda.com provides services for over 100 countries, such as Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, etc, using our webpage. Besides that, for each country, we have more than 100 hotels listed in our server.

Marketing and Sales
Even though Agoda.com is well-know, we continue to actively advertise our service in the online world. We use banners and advertisement in the internet to promote or services. We also send emails of latest offers to our members as well as customers who have used our services.

Outbound
There is not directly selling of our own product. Our main goal is to provide the best deal for accommodation for travelling. We serve as the middle person between the hotel and customers.

Service
Agoda.com aims to provide a hassle free process in booking a holiday accommodation. Our webpage is kept to simple functions with easy display so that it is easy for our customers to get their bookings done. Besides that, our customer service team is efficient in dealing with customer’s enquiries.

Support Activities:

Administration and Management
This part includes all the departments in Agoda.com which ensure the smooth running of the web service such as the management, finance, legal, etc to keep the webpage going strong in providing the best offer for hotel all around the world. Agoda.com’s well designed webpage with easy accessibility is provided by a great team.

Human Resource Management
A good Online and Offline team is to be credited for our company’s success and growth over the years. A good support provided by the Offline team is essential to ensure that the Online team is able to provide the best service to the customers booking their holiday destination on Agoda.com.

Technology Development
Technology Development is one of the most important parts of the company seeing that our company is set out to provide online booking services. Thus, our technology development has to be constantly updating our system so that our webpage is easily accessible for the customers. Besides that, our development is always in search of the best way to make making a reservation hassle-free.

Procurement


This part involves looking for more hotels to be listed in our server. Our Offline time will constantly seek out hotels which may be a travel destination for our customers. Through this, we are able to provide more option from which our customers can choose. Our team is also set out to help seek for better deals for the customers.
